About Us

Bendigo Fashion Festival, which began in 2007 as Bendigo Fashion Week, is entering its 11th year in 2017. This event is now managed by the volunteer committee of Bendigo Fashion Festival Incorporated. Bendigo Fashion Festival is an annual event with a strong focus on developing Bendigo as the fashion retail centre in the region. While encouraging locals to shop at home, the festival would also like to attract external fashion patrons to visit, stay and spend in Bendigo.

The 2016 Bendigo Fashion Festival is created by Dannielle Downs, Angie Jackman, Erin Griffin & Holly Evans.
The Bendigo Fashion Festival was founded with the following purpose:
  • To support and promote local businesses through raising brand awareness, encouraging people to buy, stay and eat locally
  • To educate and nurture the creative talents of regional people in the fashion and arts industry
  • To involve and engage the community by partnering with like-minded businesses, councils and groups, to create fashion-oriented events and programs

Local Retail

Our purpose is to support all local retailers, both independently and nationally owned. The last ten years has seen us involve, collaborate with and assist hundreds of retailers - many of which have been with us since our first year.
Schools and Students

We are passionate about providing a platform for aspiring fashion students, and our relationships with all of the local secondary, senior secondary colleges and La Trobe University continue to see us do this.

We have leveraged the careers of many young designers and event students through gaining vital experience in the industry.
Community and Cultural Groups

Through nurtured relationships, we have the privilege of including and engaging local community members from all walks of life in our events.
Tourism and the Arts

As one of the largest regional fashion festivals of our type, our events have become highlights on the Central Victorian tourism calendar. With a variety of hosted and supported Bendigo Fashion Festival events throughout the year, the flow on effect to retail, hospitality and accommodation has been noted by our local council and tourism centre.
Significant Partnerships

The value and importance of the Bendigo Fashion Festival to the local community is constantly recognised and supported through mutually beneficial partnerships with many local businesses.
Significant Collaborations

We host and support a variety of events in collaboration with many noted local and state businesses. Over the last few years these have included:
  • City of Greater Bendigo
  • Bendigo Jockey Club
  • Melbourne Council
  • Jools for Jim
  • Star Cinema
  • Women in Wool
